Orb Spider Gauntlet Cuff
Moth and Spider - handmade out of copper in my Austin Tx Studio - by Jamie Spinello
*Made to order* Please provide your size and allow me 2-3 weeks to make one just for you!
SIZE: This design is adjustable, but I request your apx size during checkout just to prepare your cuff before shipment to the right size. You can readjust once you receive it if needed.
small 5"-6" (pictured on wrist just under 6")
medium 6"-7"
large 7"-8"
I am unable to accommodate larger sizes than the options listed at this time.
MATERIAL: 100% copper
SEALED: coated with a sealer that prevents greening of the skin and protects finish
LENGTH: length of cuff is apx 4.75" long in the front and tapers down for a comfort fit in the back. I can make shorter ones if desired and will be making more petite versions of this cuff, so keep an eye out for them in my shop.
I can set a stone on its abdomen for an extra cost, but must discuss this customization first before ordering.
DESIGN: Is based on my original drawing of an orb spider catching a moth. Each side of the cuff is flanked with a small spiderweb that wraps around onto the back of the cuff. If you like this design, be sure to check out my other spider and insect designs in my shop!
Each cuff is drawn and etched by me and made from 100% copper sheet.
Drawn, Etched, Cut and Finished in my studio out of copper sheet. Recessed areas are blackened to bring out the contrast of the lines. Made from 16g copper sheet. No two cuffs are ever exactly alike because I make everything by hand but I do make them as close as possible to the picture. I take custom orders if I am able, if you have a custom piece in mind, shoot me a message and lets discuss what is possible.
Process:
free hand drawing
etching
sawing out the form from the plate
filing down rough edges
hammering around a form to make it fit wrist comfortably
oxidizing (blackening and applying patina)
sanding (to bring out relief of raised lines)
sealing (to retain oxidation and patina)
All of my designs are © Jamie Spinello and copyrights are enforced
International orders are welcome, please contact me about ship>>>>ment and I can set the listing up for purchase.
