Adornments
I started creating jewelry in 2008 after graduating with a degree in painting. I initially started learning jewelry techniques as a way to convert my paper sculptures into metal forms. I responded to an unpaid apprenticeship position listed on craigslist with a jeweler to learn simple soldering techniques with gold and silver and taught myself everything else. Over 10 years later, the jewelry craft still has a grip on me. Most recently, I have been integrating my metalworking skills that I use to create my one of a kind wearable art into larger metal sculptural forms. The intention to utilize what I learn to scale my work in metal is finally starting to come full circle.
