When I was a teenager, I dreamt that I was visited by a tall gangly legged creature from the field near my childhood home. It was moving in synch with the 6ft tall grass hypnotically as I tried to run. Looking at it seemed to put me into an immobile trance. Every effort to move seemed to be in extreme slow motion, opening my mouth to yell, I could not. I looked through folklore books and discovered that a creature that most closely represented what was in my dream, was referred to in Slavic mythology as a Nocnitsa.

After researching, I have found that such nightmares are often associated with hypnagogic dream states aka. "sleep paralysis", which I had several times from my teens to my early 20s. Sleep paralysis is a phenomena that happens because of the body overproducing the chemicals that prevent movement during sleep. Most people that experience sleep paralysis experience it during their teenage years and it is believed to be linked to chemical changes that are happening in the brain during that time of development.

When will my order ship?
If you ordered an item that is "ready to ship" then I generally ship between 1-3 business days after time of purchase.
If you ordered something that is "made to order" then I will begin production after receipt of payment.
