Inspired Design: I created this necklace in honor of water myths, abstracting motifs that represent lotus roots and lily pads. This stone, Lodalite, has always made me think of primordial waters with the beginnings of life trapped within it. The Egyptian god, Nefertem, was believed to have been born from a lotus blossom and reborn every day with the rising sun. "Rise like Nefertem from the blue water lily, to the nostrils of Ra, and come forth upon the horizon each day."
