Ode to the Toad.

Growing up on the gulf coast in Mississippi, I have always loved toads and have been wanting to make a few things to honor them for a long time. The first couple of sculpts that I created last year came out really messed up and looked way more like mammals than amphibians. So far this is my first sculpted prototype that I feel like captures the face of a Gulf Coast Toad enough to share. I literally captured live toads for observation while I sculpted this. I observed them for a few hours then released them. I will be reworking this toad head to adjust the face symmetry and possibly change the head ridges and nostrils a bit, but I'm pretty excited about it! All the love for the toads!
