Turquoise Nouveau Garden Pendant
*One of a Kind* This piece is completely sculpted by hand out of wax and then cast in Sterling Silver.
About this design:
I utilized wild native central Texas plants and plants from my garden to create the frame for this unique Turquoise stone. This one of a kind piece is part of a series of pieces I have been creating for a few years. I sculpt each one of a kind piece out of wax and then cast my one of kind wax model, transforming it into solid sterling silver, using a form of traditional metal casting that has been used for thousands of years to create metal sculptures and jewelry.
This is meant to be worn short or at a medium length, to lay against the chest on display.

Ammonites were prehistoric creatures that were (essentially) the predecessors of the present day chambered nautilus. They were cephalopods that lived on the bottom of the ocean inside their chambered shells millions of years ago. Each cell within their shell was a new room they built for their body as they grew, leaving behind the smaller cell they once inhabited, and so I view the chambered nautilus, as many do, as a symbol for the spiral of life; symbolizing how we endure and grow through our own chapters. I have always been fascinated by the chambered nautilus and its beautiful geometry, so exact and so absolute.

This bangle was made from a mold that was a discontinued design given to me by a friend years ago that no longer makes jewelry.
The mold was made from linking models of an Ulna bone together that originated from a possum that met its untimely end on a roadside. The Ulna is the larger of the two forearm bones.
Each is made to order, which means, my production of the design begins after purchase.

Long Bronze Primrose Pods *Ready to ship*

Seed Pods of the Primrose made out of Bronze, Native Wildflower Specimen cast into solid Bronze
Handmade in my studio from beginning to end.
These are mutated (fasciated) seed pods from a Mexican Evening Primrose that I cast into bronze and made into earrings last year. I collected them from the side of the interstate on the way to Dallas last year and it was a real trick even figuring out what they were because the rest of the plant had died.
Material: Bronze
Size: From earwire to the tip of the pods, each measures apx 3.25" long. I make each of these by hand from my wax models and there is construction involved before casting, so there are slight variations that occur.
