Each is one of a kind! I construct these and cast them one at a time and add plant decor around the eye, so each will always be unique. *Made to Order* Please allow for the projected production time ( estimated timecan be found in my policies at the bottom of my website) to make this piece for you.
Harmony is to see the world through the eye of a gardener, ever observing, ever learning, ever pruning, ever healing, and ever growing. I myself hope to envisage these ideals. I created this talisman, the 'Gardener's Eye', to represent this.
I have always loved plants and small creatures found in the gardens. Small worlds where life is seemingly immune to the daily grind and drama kicked up by politics and the media. A garden is a place to be quiet, a place to discover, a place to heal, and a place to grow. I don't spend as much time in my garden as I would like to, but having that world there to cross over into on a whim brings an unequaled amount of solace. Connecting to nature has always been my only connection to anything outside of the human condition or something that could remotely be described as spiritual. Church on Sunday was always held outside. The plants, rocks, and creatures were the clergy and I alone was the congregation. When studying literature in highschool I latched on to the Transcendentalists and connected with their beliefs about life, how to live, and their thoughts on the afterlife. I created this piece as a celebration of those ideals and hope that everyone can view life as seen through the eye of a gardener, always seeking knowledge and seeing wonder.
I carved this piece out of wax and used molds that I took from actual plants growing in my garden to create the bouquet around the eye. I always cast my pieces in high quality Sterling Silver or Bronze (an alloy of copper and tin) upon request.
